The 2003 United States Goodwill Team to the Canadian Fullbore Rifle Championships (CFRC) held at Connaught Range in Ottawa, Ontario consisted of less than twenty competitors combining Target Rifle and F-Class shooters. As a result we were tight for manpower to field teams for both Target Rifle and F-Class. However, we were able to field a team for the Commonwealth, and Canada Matches for Target Rifle and a team for the Lum Trophy for F-Class. Due to the reduced entries for this years CFRC only three teams entered the Commonwealth, only two the Canada match, and only one the Outlander (the U.S.). The Outlander was canceled. The U.S. placed second in both matches doubling up on coaching, and scoring duties. In the Canada match we reduced the Canadian margin to only twenty points over the total 1200 possible. To that end I was pleased with our performance. In the individual awards we faired much better: Peter Church, Adam Samansky, and Terry Glenn won Target Rifle Matches, and John Brewer won several individual F-Class matches, as well as the MacDonald-Stewart Aggregate for F-Class. Additionally, eight team members made the Governor General's Final: Leo Cebula, Pete Church, Scott Fulmer, Terry Glenn, Bob Jones, Adam Samansky, Brian Slink, and Steve Urban. Photos from the range and awards ceremonies are attached. Additionally, we would like to thank Bill Gravatt at Sinclair International and McLane Tilton at MT Guns for their generous donations to the U.S. Team. Thank you again! |
